WHY I DON’T NAP TRAIN
Is this blowing your mind? The gal who yaps about sleep and naps DOESN'T nap train. Let me explain.
Let’s talk about why I don’t nap train, because I think when people hear me talk about sleep, wake windows, crib naps, and eventually the foundations of the Dana Method — two set naps and a cat nap — they assume I must be doing a very rigid, nap-at-all-costs kind of thing. And I’m not. I care deeply about sleep. I follow wake windows religiously in the newborn stage. I lay good sleep foundations. I work toward crib naps starting around 8 weeks. I sleep train overnight around five and a half months. And once baby is sleeping overnight, I move into my rhythm of two set naps and a cat nap. All of that is true. But I do not nap train, and I definitely do not “save” naps.
