If you’re coming from TikTok, here’s my deal: my husband and I had four kids in six years, and we sleep trained all of them at 5.5 months. From that point on, our kids sleep independently, happily, for 12 hours straight.

Before we begin:

  • This is my experience, not medical advice.

  • If you are vehemently opposed to sleep training or you’re not interested, genuinely—this post isn’t for you and that’s okay.

  • If your baby has medical concerns, was premature, isn’t gaining weight well, or you’re unsure about night feeds, check with your pediatrician and tailor accordingly.

  • Safe sleep matters: I always recommend baby being in their own room in their own crib (firm mattress, fitted sheet, no loose bedding, etc.).

Okay. Let’s get into the WHY and the HOW.
